GB Sciences

This 36,000 square foot facility houses Louisiana’s first medical cannabis cultivation and extraction lab.  GB Sciences partnered with the LSUAg Center to cultivate and research the plant and its many medicinal uses.  A former beverage distribution facility was renovated to house both GB Sciences’ and LSUAg Center’s offices, conference spaces, break rooms, and laboratory spaces.  Individual modular cultivation rooms were fabricated off-site and assembled inside the warehouse of the facility.  Infrastructure was designed and brought to each modular room to control and monitor the highly sophisticated environmental systems including HVAC, dehumidification, CO2 levels, lighting levels, and irrigation.  A separate indoor space was designated for curing the plants once harvested.  Once cured, the plants are trimmed and then sent to the extraction lab to produce multiple different medicinal products to relieve a multitude of ailments for qualifying patients.
