EBR Pump Station 58A

The East Baton Rouge Parish Department of Public Works Pump Station 58A is a single-story, 2,000 SF building located at the entrance to LSU’s Burden Research Center.  A feature of the Burden Research Center is the Rural Life Museum.  Buildings located throughout the Rural Life Museum are designed to replicate rural buildings of the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s.

Crump Wilson Architects was tasked by the Rural Life Museum to replicate the character of the rural life buildings.  We successfully captured that character using more modern, maintenance-sensitive, and sustainable materials.

The facility houses an extensive quantity of sophisticated equipment (VFD’s, MCC’s, and electrical switchgear) for controlling the overall pumping system located underground.
