The interior renovation of the Coastal Activities division of the Office of the Governor was driven by the need to create a dedicated conference room and centrally locate all the workers in one area. Located in a historic building, adjacent to the State Capital, the renovation had constructability problems that had to be addressed during design. The curved partition that divides the reception area from the conference room is a combination of stained wood and etched glass designed to look like a historic storefront. Stained wood that matched the existing woodwork was used at all the millwork throughout the renovated space.
