Louisiana State Department of Wildlife and Fisheries - Marine Research Laboratory

Crump Wilson Architects master planned this 6 acre site and designed all of the facilities.  Site improvements included the creation of a harbor and the re-alignment of existing rock jetties.

The four-building complex consists of administrative offices, research laboratories, an oyster hatchery, a visitor’s lab, dormitories, a marina, and a maintenance shop.

The Marina Building contains the research modules, fish tanks, and slips for fourteen boats.  The Main Building is comprised of research laboratories and administrative offices, and a Cooperator Building was designed to as a researcher dorm and conference/learning center.
